Transfábulas (2025)
Transfábulas is Uruguay's first theater production with 100% trans cast, direction, and dramaturgy. Six monologues weave the fantastical and the raw, the dreamy and the testimonial: a cat confessing, a mermaid reaching for the stage, a vampire tired of borrowed vitality, a comedian turning pastry into performance, a fairy remembering her metamorphosis.
Supported by Programa Fortalecimiento de las Artes, IMM. Premiered at Teatro Stella D'Italia, 2025.
The Sound
Each monologue lives in its own sonic world, but the worlds breathe together. The sound design moves underneath the dialogue rather than illustrating it, shaping how the audience feels before they understand why. Textures shift between the familiar and the otherworldly, between everyday Montevideo
and something just beyond reach.
The goal was cohesion without sameness: six characters, six atmospheres, one universe
in constant transformation.
Sound Design & ProcessA cohesive narrative construction across the whole piece with a unique acoustic identity for each character. The sonic textures highlight the nuances of dialogue without being obvious, operating on the audience's subconscious.
Press“Theater as a space of resistance and celebration. A place where metamorphosis
is not just a memory, but a
constant possibility."
María José Pieri, Cooltivarte, 2025
“An aesthetic and political wager: to make visible narratives that dissent from the gender binary without falling into pity, and to explore the territory between fable and testimony."
En Perspectiva (Radiomundo), 2025
